It is a common thing when someone begins to search the internet in regard to symptoms. As a health care provider, your goal is to ensure that your content and health provider information rises to the top of their search queries, but how can this be done? The answer is the right CMS system.
What is the best way to choose one? We have gathered a few key suggestions that help you to make the right choice.

Budget
Budget is an important thing when it comes to project planning. There are multiple tools for marketing and ecommerce available today that could potentially meet your needs. The two big hitters are Sitecore and EPI server, which can work within your budget.
For those that have a smaller budget, Magento or Umbraco can be a good solution. Simple but effective systems with room to grow — what could be better?

Industry position
Two independent market research firms, Gartner and Forrester, issue research reports and rank leaders’ names by different requirements. Sitecore and Episerver take a leadership position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant. We can add that Episerver has continuously moved higher and higher year-by-year.

Report

As you see Magento and Umbraco are absent in these reports. Magento was acquired by Adobe in 2018 to strengthen Adobe’s ecommerce portfolio with smaller implementations. However, these may be less of a cost, but they have fewer features when compared to EPI server or Sitecore.

To match your goals
As a Healthcare organization, you might have very specific requirements and it becomes critical to choose the best fit. Episerver and Sitecore both have a large portfolio of healthcare customers, i.e. University of Maryland Medical System and Rasay Healthcare both use Sitecore, the American Hospital Association and Seattle Children’s Hospital are built on Episerver. Magento also has several successful cases with well-known providers, i.e. Nestle Health Science. Umbraco is used for some customers like Scholl to develop consumer-facing platforms.

Personalization
In the annuall digital marketing conference DMEXCO in Cologne (40K visitors, 977 exhibitors, more than 700 international speakers), the main topic was lost of trust. It means that customers have lost trust in brands and ads. Personalization, however, seems to be a potential solution. With this in mind, Epi server and Sitecore have taken the personalization game to the top. Both platforms have several case studies that attest to its effectiveness in this regard. Magento also has personalization tools for additional licensing costs. Umbraco has fewer abilities for personalization as compared to the others.

Conclusion
If the budget is right, the ever growing and improving Epi server or Sitecore may just be a good fit. Magento or Umbraco becomes a good solution when there is a conservative budget but looking for room to grow with plugins.
